“The song deals with trying to help out someone and having it blow up in your face,” the Lindas say about the single

Los Angeles punk-pop girls The Linda Lindas couldn’t drop a more timely summer track than today’s new single, “Oh!” Its fun bright color scheme and Polaroid-themed shots make the music video lots of fun to watch. The video also features San Jose-based skateboarder, photographer and musician Ray Barbee.

The Linda Lindas claim “Oh!” was the product of their fruitful collaboration during hard corona-ridden months.

“‘Oh!’ is one of the first songs we collaborated on during the pandemic, masked and distanced on the front porch,” they wrote in the press release. “It started with the main riff and progression Bela brought to the band. Eloise wrote the verses, and Lucia and Mila wrote the choruses. The song deals with trying to help out someone and having it blow up in your face.”

The catchy new single “Oh!” picks it up from their previous successful track ‘Racist, Sexist Boy’. It will also be featured in the upcoming Netflix series The Chair starring Sandra Oh (hence, the name of the single?). The trailer of the series has “Oh!” playing on the background. The Linda Lindas aren’t strangers to the world of Netflix. They were featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary The Claudia Kishi Club. Besides, they were part of Amy Poehler’s Moxie, a movie about a girl who runs a zine calling out sexism cases in her school. “My rock daughters the Linda Lindas released a banger of a song + music video today,” she wrote in her tweet, “and I am very proud of them and think you should all go watch/listen ASAP.”
