In ‘Voldemort’ the band are shooting a video in front of the green screen, but things don’t go according to plan

Aussie pop-punk outfit With Confidence have released a new music video for their Harry Potter-referenced song ‘Voldemort’. The track is featured on their debut album, Better Weather.
The video, directed by Justin Giritlian and Nathan Sam, embodies what pop punk is all about and is fun to watch till the very end. In the clip, the band members are doing their best, rocking in front of the green screen, while they are bombarded with endless crew members and extras, from hairdressers blow-drying their hair to girls in bikini running around them, throwing beach balls.
How did the band come up with the idea for such a hilarious chaotic video? Frontman Jayden Seeley explained, “Voldemort is a happy, carefree ‘fuck you’ to mental illness and this video is our representation of that! It’s about rolling with the punches despite life breaking your green screen and throwing beach balls at you.”
“What does mental illness have to do with it and why on Earth is it titled ‘Voldemort’?”, you might be wondering. The band’s bassist Jayden Seeley earlier told Alternative Press why the song got such a name: “Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself.’ Voldemort is my personification of mental illness.”
With Confidence dropped their debut album, Better Weather, in June. This is the group’s third music video for the songs off of the new album: earlier, they dropped ‘Keeper‘ and ‘We’ll Be Okay‘ clips.
The four-piece is currently touring the US on the Vans Warped Tour. They will head back to Australia later on to support Motion City Soundtrack, and then fly to the UK and Europe for another tour, opening for Knuckle Puck and Real Friends. Check out With Confidence’s tour destinations below.
