Jim Root has posted an update on his recovery after disk replacement surgery
October 6, 2016
After the recent Louder Than Life festival in Louisville Slipknot guitarist Jim Root had to fly to the hospital for disk replacement in his back. To keep his fans informed on his state, Root has posted a photo on Instagram of himself hooked up to an I.V. The guitarist adds that apart from “being a bit sore and spun out from jet lag and Norco’s it’s all good” (see the post below).

Root admits for a while he won’t be as active onstage as he normally is, for the sake of the full recovery: “Although I won’t be as ‘mobile’ onstage as before I’m looking very forward to the upcoming Knotfest shows and places we’ll be going in between…”, reads his Instagram post.
Not the luckiest year on Slipknot’s music path, as we’ve seen so far. Earlier this year some tour dates were postponed after Corey Taylor had to undergo spinal surgery. This time, it’s the band’s guitarist ending up under the knife due to back problems.
Let’s hope Slipknot’s guitarist will have recovered by the band’s next show, Knotfest Mexico, taking place on October 16. After a couple of shows in Latin America, the group will head to New Zealand and Australia and then play a set at Knotfest Japan.
