Back in 2015 the band asked their fans to send in clips recorded at the Slipknot show

Instead of making polished live videos, devoid of personal touch, why not compile fan-filmed clips and let other fans see the band through their eyes? So thought Slipknot. And they did exactly that.

Corey Taylor and co. invited fans to record the band live using any camera back in August 19, 2015. Since then Slipknot have been collecting fans’ video footage, and yesterday, January 23, they have shared the fan-filmed version of ‘Killpop’ (see below). Slipknot are currently editing the rest of the footage to launch a series of such clips.

Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan recently told Metal Insider that he and guitarist Jim Root are planning to get together in early February to start writing new music.

Slipknot’s touring marathon in support of their last album, The Gray Chapter, finished a while ago but the band’s frontman hasn’t been resting on laurels. He has just got together with his Stone Sour to record their new studio effort.

In the meantime, some other band members are active as well. Crahan is sharpening his skills as the film director: his new effort Officer Downe was screened in theaters and was availbale on various on-demand platforms in November 2016.
