Until this moment, we had only heard from one lucky fan who met Muse outside of their London studio that they had recorded three new songs. Today, the band has finally taken to Instagram to show frontman Matt Bellamy in the studio, working on new, ethereal tunes for the follow-up to Drones.

Previously, Muse had shared a few photos of them at work writing and recording new stuff, and finally fans can have a sneak peek into the studio and check out a short clip of Bellamy producing spacelike guitar sounds. The post’s caption promises a new Muse track “coming soon” (see the post below).

Muse are reportedly recording at the Air Studios, the studio which saw Muse’s biggest hits from Absolution, The 2nd Law and Drones. Will the band’s follow-up to 2015’s record Drones be released later this year? It’s not known yet but the video showing that the band is not being idle looks promising. Earlier, Bellamy suggested the new stuff be “more stripped-back”:

“I feel like I say it every time with each album but I feel like it might be time to actually do something a bit more stripped down,” the frontman said.
