“We just wanted to give these songs a 2022 dress”, explains Lacuna Coil singer Cristina Scabbia
Italian iconic rock band Lacuna Coil has released the music video for the new version of their song ‘Swamped’. The new rendition is featured on their album Comalies XX, which the band describes as a “deconstructed” version of the record, released two decades ago, on October 29, 2002.

When Lacuna Coil released the original 2002 album, it took the world by storm and solidified the band’s presence on the gothic metal scene, flourishing in early 2000s. Twenty years later, Cristina Scabbia & co. re-recorded the songs with an intention to “deconstruct and transport” them into 2022.
“This is not a reboot or a spin-off or anything like that,” says Scabbia. “We just wanted to give these songs a 2022 dress and see how this guy or girl who was born 20 years ago would still look fucking slick in 2022.”
Comalies album featured some of the band’s biggest hits, including ‘Heaven’s A Lie’, which became truly iconic. Track ‘Swamped’ is also available as a downloadable track for the music video game series “Rock Band” and also appeared in the 2004 video game “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines”.
