The new Atreyu track is a classic alt-metal banger, guaranteed to translate live

As soon as Atreyu announced the release details of their upcoming EP, titled The Moment You Find Your Flame, they also introduced the anthemic new single, ‘Gone’. To fans’ joy, the track arrived with a lyric video – the one they’ll definitely put on repeat. And as if that’s not enough, Atreyu are also dropping their next studio album, The Beautiful Dark of Life, later this year.

The song lyrics are a letter of regret, recognizing one’s inability to love and taking full responsibility for letting the relationship die:

I didn't know how to love you, I know that it wasn't fair
Think we both know who to point to, I have to live with your tears

Pondering on the name of the upcoming EP, Atreyu bassist and vocalist Marc McKnight says:

“The Moment You Find Your Flame is the path you’ve set out on to recovery. You’ve followed the glimmer of hope and potential, and the way forward is beginning to reveal itself. But it is still only a little flame. It needs nurturing still.”

Atreyu believe they are in the best place in their career right now, bursting with creativity and connecting with the crowd on tour like never before.

“Something special is happening with Atreyu right now,” guitarist Dan Jacobs opens up. “We can feel the creativity and collaboration when the five of us get in the studio. We can feel the confidence we all give each other when we stand onstage together, and we can see it in the audience when they’re losing their minds. They’re having as good a time as we are ourselves.”

The Moment You Find Your Flame is due for release Aug 18 via Spinefarm. Check out the upcoming EP tracklist, the band’s fall UK/EU tour dates and the new single, ‘Gone’, below.
