Green Day are these omnipresent rockers who manage to attend every possible event within their reach

It was at the end of last week that Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool came to shine at the 2019 Game Awards. The trio of Green Day performed ‘Welcome To Paradise’, their 1994 hit from the third album, Dookie, and the title track of their upcoming record Father Of All…

Besides, a special DLC pack for the virtual reality game Beat Saber was announced featuring six Green Day songs. The $9-DLC-pack includes ‘American Idiot’, ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, ‘Father of All…’, ‘Fire, Ready, Aim’, ‘Holiday’ and ‘Minority’.

In other Green Day news, the Hall of Fame rockers recently played an intimate show in Costa Mesa, California under the name The Coverups. As you can suggest from the name, The Coverups performed the covers of famous songs, mostly punk rock classics like Misfits and The Ramones. But the final six songs of the 34 song set were actually the songs from Green Day albums. They were the new album’s single ‘Father Of All..’, as well as ‘Revolution Radio’, ‘Hitchin’ A Ride’, ‘Welcome To Paradise’, ‘Burnout’, and ‘Jesus Of Suburbia’.

In one and a half months we’ll hear Green Day’s new album Father Of All… It’s due out February 7, with preorders available at this location. Stay tuned with us on AlteRock Facebook and AlteRock Twitter!
