Danny Worsnop Accuses Asking Alexandria’s Ex-Vocalist Denis Stoff of Lip-Syncing

1993

“He was lip syncing over my stuff for a minute,” claims Worsnop

March 13, 2017

There was a lot of drama when Asking Alexandria’s previous vocalist Denis Stoff suddenly parted ways with the band and their old frontman Danny Worsnop took hold of the mic again. But the drama days are not over, it seems. Worsnop now accuses Stoff of lip-syncing his stuff during the live set.

Here is what Worsnop told Lead Singer Sydrome in the new interview:
”The only weird thing was, and this was like, it was like almost illegal. He was lip syncing over my stuff for a minute. That obviously did not rub me or my lawyers the right way. They jumped on it before I did.”
Worsnop’s lawyers quickly reacted to the illegal lip syncing and sent him a cease and desist. However, Worsnop points out, at the time he wasn’t following what was happening in the band’s life, so he didn’t get pissed off when he first heard that:
”I hadn’t seen them or heard them with him so, at the time, I was just like, ‘yeah make sure he’s not using my stuff. I don’t care.’ I believe he went in [the studio] and tracked some to lip sync after that,” he adds. “But that’s hearsay. I don’t know the extent of the truth of that.”
Stoff replaced Worsnop between 2015-2017 and his vocals landed on their latest album, The Black. But the current singer doesn’t like the term “replaced”, when asked about Denis:
“Replace is a strong word. He was just keeping my seat warm.” The current singer adds, though, that he isn’t the one to be asked about Stoff as a person: “Honestly, I don’t know the kid so I have no opinion of him as a person…”, he explains. “I met the kid one time on a tour in Russia, and he got a picture with me outside a hotel. That’s the extent of my knowledge of him.”
Denis Stoff hasn’t responded to the lip-sync accusation yet, but the whole drama has resulted in plenty of unpleasant social media messages for Asking Alexandria. Guitarist Ben Bruce couldn’t stay indifferent to the whole situation and wrote on Twitter: “I try my best to spread positivity and happiness but at times it seems all people want is to bring others down. Sometimes it makes me want to quit….but then I would just be letting myself down”.
