The new single ‘She Knows It’ follows Maggie Lindemann’s debut EP, ‘PARANOIA’
Remember The Killers’ lines “Somebody told me you had a boyfriend / Who looked like a girlfriend…”, and how we all loved it for its puzzling lyrics? Well, Maggie Lindemann, who released her debut EP, PARANOIA, earlier this year, is delighting her fans with a new head-scratching single, ‘She Knows It.’
At first, the singer had doubted whether to continue working on the song or not. But now she believes a lot of women can relate to this women-loving-women topic:

“I wrote this song about liking a girl with a boyfriend when I first started writing my new album,” Lindemann opened up to Alternative Press. She continues:
“It was a couple of years ago, but I was just so hurt about it because I felt like I was really being led on and used. I know a lot of women-loving-women can relate to this topic, so I was like, ‘Fuck it. I’m gonna write about it.’”
The song is a whirlwind of emotions, and the accompanying music video is depicting it perfectly. The video starts with Maggie Lindemann and her love interest chatting in the classroom and then going to the same show. When Maggie’s character meets the girl’s her boyfriend, she immediately dislikes the guy and flips him off.

Director Vixxion helped 23-year-old Lindemann make her music video a “high school fantasy”, as she calls it:
“I wrote up the concept [for the visual] right when we made the song,” Lindemann wrote in a press release. “I instantly had a vision for it and wanted to give it a high school 2000s feel but also keep it current and industrial and surreal spin from a normal classroom setting. I wanted to tap into my high school fantasy.”
The video also features artists such as Jasiah, Siiickbrain and TOOPOOR. ‘She Knows It’ premiered on Instagram during the preshow of livestream House of Horrors, launched by blink-182’s Travis Barker. The livestream also starred Mark Hoppus, Machine Gun Kelly, as well as blackbear and iann dior.
The lyrics of ‘She Knows It’ are as puzzling as they are gripping. From confessing she happens to “like a girl that’s got a boyfriend / Can’t seem to get her out of my head” the lyrics change to show the girl’s relationship with her boyfriend isn’t ideal and our singer hopes to take his place:
